What are your fees?
Our fees are based on specialized expertise and standard rates for doctoral-level clinicians. Our rates start at $250 per 50-minute session, and vary depending on the clinician. We do not provide sliding scale or reduced rate services at present. The fee is due at the time of the session. We welcome you to discuss your treatment and financial needs with us.
Do you take insurance?
We accept Independence Blue Cross of Pennsylvania (and affiliated health plans) and Compsych Managed Care. Most other PPO insurance plans will provide some out-of-network reimbursement for therapy sessions, and we can provide a monthly statement that you can submit for reimbursement. This statement includes all the information needed to submit a claim to your insurance provider. We can also file any reports needed for you to receive reimbursement. Please speak to your insurance provider prior to scheduling a session to understand whether your plan provides for reimbursement, the amount that will be reimbursed, and what you will need to provide to receive reimbursement.
How long does therapy last, and what can i expect?
The duration of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy varies based on a number of factors, but across all types of concerns, research shows that, on average, 10-20 sessions may be sufficient to experience significant improvement and/or meet one’s treatment goals. Depending on the concerns being addressed, sometimes fewer sessions are needed, and sometimes more sessions are recommended. Some clients choose to continue treatment after experiencing initial improvement in order to maintain treatment gains.
During your initial session, you and your therapist will get to know one another. Your therapist will ask about your history and what you would like to work on in therapy. Your therapist will ask about many different areas of your life in order to better understand your experience and develop a treatment plan. You can ask your therapist any questions you may have. After this assessment stage, if you jointly decide to move forward with treatment, you will collaboratively develop goals and your therapist will explain how treatment will look. Sessions after this often have a beginning, a middle, and an end: in the beginning of the session, you will check in about the previous week and any goals you set for the week, in the middle, you will implement skills and strategies pertaining to the topics you are working on, and in the end, you will wrap up and set goals for the upcoming week.
