Izabela Milaniak, PhD
Psychologist, She/her/hers
Licensed Clinical Psychologist: Pennsylvania 19431, authorized to provide teletherapy in 40 states and District of Columbia through PSYPACT
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with years of experience in providing evidence-based therapy focusing on training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and depression, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), and organizational skills training for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). I have special training in the psychological aspects of sleep dysfunction and gastrointestinal functional disorders. I completed my PhD training at the University of Pennsylvania, the birthplace of CBT, and completed my residency and fellowship at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, DE.
My approach with my clients is flexibly implementing evidence-based therapeutic techniques (i.e., approaches that have been scientifically proven for decades to be successful). I believe that effective therapy needs to help build skills such as understanding and regulating emotions, relaxation strategies, understanding and managing thought patterns and beliefs, communication and social skills etc. These skills are vital in addressing anxiety and depression. We could all use some help in learning how to cope with being human in an increasingly challenging time. I believe that my clients have everything they already need to get better, I just provide the tools.
