Licensed Clinical Psychologist: Colorado 3128, authorized to provide teletherapy in 40 states and District of Columbia through PSYPACT
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist with over twenty years of experience providing evidence-based psychotherapy to adults and couples with a wide range of presenting concerns. I focus on building a safe and collaborative relationship with clients while honoring their unique identities and experiences. I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, understood and empowered in therapy, as this is a foundation for successful growth and change.
I am committed to providing effective and research-based therapies and enjoy the process of supporting clients in making positive changes in their lives and relationships. I have extensive training and experience with approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and Mindful Self Compassion. These therapies provide research-backed pathways to guide the treatment of problems such as depression, anxiety, PTSD and trauma symptoms, low self esteem, life transitions and losses, and relationship struggles. I also provide therapy for problems such as Bipolar Disorder, and often collaborate with medication providers and other professionals to optimize treatment.
I am also an experienced couple and family therapist and use Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy in my practice. I frequently integrate techniques from the Gottman Method and Emotion-Focused Therapy in my work with couples. I individualize my approach to couples work to fit the learning style and needs of each couple I work with, using a warm, active, and engaged therapeutic style.
About me
I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Bowling Green State University, Clinical Internship at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Baltimore VA and University of Maryland School of Medicine. I have worked within the VA Healthcare System for twenty years and have faculty appointments at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Regis University where I have been involved in clinical training and education.
When I am not working, I love enjoying the outdoors with family, friends and my two energetic dogs Charlie and Emma. I also have strong personal interests in mindfulness practice, travel, and trail running and hiking.
