Caroline Christian, PhD
PSYCHOLOGIST, SHE/HER/HERS
Licensed Clinical Psychologist: Pennsylvania 020359 and Oregon 4261.
I am a licensed psychologist with years of experience providing inclusive, evidence-based therapy. My clinical expertise is in treating anxiety-based disorders, eating disorders, OCD, perinatal mental health concerns, and related mental health challenges. I integrate multiple evidence-based treatments to meet each client’s individual needs, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, exposure-based therapies (including Exposure and Response Prevention), Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
I work best with clients who are motivated for treatment and want a relatively structured therapy environment focused on creating and working towards goals (not just “talk therapy”). I primarily work with adult and adolescent clients, and I see clients of all genders, sexual orientations, and ethnicities. It is important to me to listen and learn about each client’s unique identities, background, and experiences in the therapy room in order to tailor treatment and support the whole person. In my practice, I prioritize creating a therapeutic space that is inclusive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, including providing anti-racist, sex-positive, gender-affirming, and weight-neutral care.
About me
I earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Louisville and completed my predoctoral clinical internship and postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center/Western Psychiatric Hospital. In addition to my role as a clinician, I am also an educator, teaching undergraduate coursework on topics related to clinical-health psychology. Outside of work, I love to play tennis, make pottery, shop at thrift stores and markets, and spend time in nature with my dogs.
